As we head into the season, a reminder on weather: field status is posted on the Field Locations page and updated by 3:00 p.m. on weekdays and 7:00 a.m. on Saturdays. The rainout hotline has the same information recorded.

If you hear thunder or see lightning at a field, play stops immediately and everyone clears to vehicles for thirty minutes. This is not a judgment call for coaches or referees to make.

An entry-level referee certification clinic will be held in mid-August. Anyone age fourteen or older can become certified. Referees are paid per game and set their own availability.

We are consistently short on officials, and shorthanded weekends mean coaches calling games. If you have a teenager looking for a first job, this is a good one.

Registration for the fall season is open through August 29. Recreational players are placed on teams in early September; select tryouts are held the last week of August. Register through GotSport using the link on the dashboard.

Fees increase by twenty dollars after August 15, so registering early saves money and helps us plan team sizes accurately.

Fields 3 and 4 at the North Complex now have working lights, funded by sponsorship revenue and a matching grant from the parks department. This adds roughly ten hours of usable practice time per week once the season starts.

Practice slots on the lit fields are assigned by the coaching director on a rotating basis so no team gets stuck with a 5:00 p.m. slot all season.

At the June meeting, members elected three directors to two-year terms: Vice President, Treasurer, and Director of Coaching. The full board roster is available on the Staff Directory page.
